Bradford C. Dickson has overall responsibility for managing and coordinating the tax practice at Tarpley & Underwood, P.C. Brad’s 25+ years professional experience includes counseling business and individual clients in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, food production, construction, engineering, mortgage brokering, credit, professional and technology services. He has advised varying sized clients on matters of startup operations, entity selection, capital formation, business combinations, reorganizations, tax planning, and tax controversy. Brad’s practice also includes matters of U.S. international tax for multinational companies, investors and executives on overseas assignment. Brad is responsible for the firm’s tax compliance outsourcing services administered to larger sized corporate clients.

Brad chairs the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants of Georgia (GSCPA) Taxation Section, and received the 2007 Distinguished Section Chair award. Brad is a member of the Georgia Department of Revenue Advisory Committee, a membership of tax professionals advising the Department on matters of tax administration and policy affecting taxpayers and practitioners. He has held leadership positions within the Finnish American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeast, the Atlanta International Tax Study Group, Tau Alpha Chi (a national tax fraternity), The Entrepreneurship Institute, and the Export Advisory Resources Group for the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Brad is a member of the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the International Fiscal Association. He has spoken and written for various professional and commercial organizations on numerous tax issues. In 2006, Brad successfully initiated state tax legislation that was passed by the Georgia General Assembly and signed by Governor Perdue that did away with double taxation on certain Georgia LLC members.

Prior to joining Tarpley & Underwood, P.C., Brad was employed for a combined ten years with KPMG LLP and Andersen LLP. He joined Tarpley & Underwood in 1993 and became a shareholder as of January 1, 1995.

Brad received his Masters in Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Emory University and his Masters in Taxation from Georgia State University. Brad is an Atlanta native, a member of St. Philips Cathedral, and lives with his family in Sandy Springs. Brad enjoys traveling, hiking, cycling, and variety of outdoor activities.
