Courtnay is a principal of Tarpley & Underwood, P.C.’s tax practice. She has close to 20 years of experience in numerous areas of tax compliance and planning, including estate planning, federal and State returns for individuals, family partnerships, trusts and estates. She also advises individuals in the complex areas of executive compensation and philanthropic strategies. Her clients include wealthy individuals as well as corporate executives. Courtnay recently published an article for CCH regarding foreign nationals’ guide to U.S. taxation.
Prior to joining Tarpley & Underwood, Courtnay was a with a local CPA firm. Previously she was a senior tax manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Courtnay graduated from the University of Georgia on 1985, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. In 1989 she received her masters of Taxation from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and serves on the board of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council.
Courtnay enjoys reading and playing tennis, and is an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Scott, live in the Oak Grove area of Atlanta with their two daughters. |
