Tarpley & Underwood’s commitment to excellence begins with our professionals. Our team members belong to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA).

The shareholders at Tarpley & Underwood have tremendous experience in leadership rolls. Both of the founding partners, Harvey Tarpley and Jim Underwood, have served as presidents of the GSCPA. Robert Prator has served as chairman on the Peer Review Executive Committee of the GSCPA and the Peer Review Board of the AICPA. He currently serves on the board of the AICPA’s newly formed Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. Robert was recently named among the top thirty of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Who’s Who for top accounting professionals – as was another shareholder, John Carpentier. Brad Dickson serves as a member of the GSCPA’s Tax Section Leadership Committee and is the chair of the Georgia Legislation Committee. Brad also has chaired the International Business Committee of the GSCPA. Cheryl Yarbrough is a member of the GSCPA Healthcare Committee and a member of the Gwinnett Chapter’s Education Committee. All shareholders serve on not-for-profit boards within our community.

The firm is required to meet stringent quality control standards and to undergo regular peer reviews. Tarpley & Underwood has received the most favorable report possible—an unqualified opinion with no letter of comment.
We value the reputation that we have built through diligence and we strive to progress continually.
